Applying for a Florida Marriage License . . .
The Fee for a Florida Marriage License is $93.50
Accepted forms of payment are:
 
  •    Cash
  •    Credit Card (Visa or MasterCard)
  •    Money Order (payable to: Miami-Dade County Clerk of Courts)
  •    Cashier’s Check (payable to: Miami-Dade County Clerk of Courts)
 
Personal checks are not accepted.
Florida Couples Completing a Registered 4-hour Premarital Course, the Fee is $61.00
If you are a resident of the State of Florida, you must wait 3 days for your marriage license to become effective.

                 
This waiting period is waived if you complete the 4-hour premarital course.

           Non-Florida residents (both U.S. & International)
do not have a waiting period.
Florida residents must apply in person.

In Miami-Dade County, you can apply for a Marriage License at any of these locations, Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 4:00pm.  (Arrive by 3:30pm to give yourself enough time to fill out the forms.)

When applying in person, you must show one form of identification with your picture, signature and birth date.  Acceptable forms of identification include:
 
  •    Driver’s License
  •    Passport
  •    Military ID
  •    Alien Registration Card
  •    State of Florida ID
U.S. citizens and residents must provide their Social Security Number.
Non-U.S. residents who do not have a Social Security Number can provide an:
   
  •    Alien Registration Card
  •    Driver’s Licence
  •    Passport
  •    Or Other Legal Form of Identification
There is no residence or citizenship status requirement to apply.   There are also no medical exams, no blood tests, and no witnesses required.
If either applicant has been previously married, they must provide the exact date
(Month-Day-Year) the last marriage ended, and how (divorce, death or annulment.)
Your Marriage License is valid for 60 days from the date it was issued.   Your marriage ceremony must be performed within this time.  (See our Wedding Packages & Prices)

Below is Information about Applying for a Marriage License in Person

  •    Marriage license must be returned to the marriage license bureau within 10 days
           after your wedding ceremony to be recorded.   If we perform your ceremony, we
           will complete and legally file your marriage license.

 
  •    Once your license has been filed and officially recorded, you will receive a
           certified copy of your marriage license in the mail from the State of Florida. 
           (This takes 1-2 weeks for U.S. couples, 4-5 weeks for International couples).


  •    If you applied for your license in Miami-Dade county, we will also e-mail you a link
          (to the Miami-Dade Marriage Bureau website) for you to see online that your
           license has been recorded and that you are officially married!
